Plot Summary
Kokuga in 1955 breathes with Heian ghosts, ruins scattered like breadcrumbs through rice fields, old names whispering thousand-year secrets. Shinko, a third-grader with a peculiar curl she calls her Mai Mai, daydreams constantly of that distant court.
